NATIONAL HOSPICE & PALLIATIVE CARE MONTH CELEBRATES
#CareHeroes
Starting the conversation about healthcare options when someone you love has a serious illness is difficult. However, you do not have to take the journey alone. At Cedar Valley Hospice, our team of experts work alongside patients and caregivers to ensure the highest quality compassionate care. Together, we can make a positive difference in people’s lives.Â
Celebrating #CareHeroes
November is National Hospice & Palliative Care Month, and we plan to spend the next month sharing more about the care we deliver each day and honoring the caregiver heroes in your lives. Whether it’s a Cedar Valley Hospice staff member or a family caregiver, these heroes are making a difference by offering their support, care and guidance when it’s needed the most.Â
This November, we celebrate our #CareHeroes commitment and invite you to share your own stories of how they’ve made a difference in your life. Join us in honoring #CareHeroes and educating our communities about hospice and palliative care.Â
Talking about hospice and palliative care opens doors to understanding, compassion and comfort. It is essential to understand that choosing hospice or palliative care is not giving up. It is not the abandonment of care, and it is not reserved for just the very end of life.Â
Â
At Cedar Valley Hospice, it’s about Making Each Moment Matter. We can provide comfort, dignity and support to patients and their families throughout their journey of declining health, and if called soon enough, sometimes for an extended period. To learn more about how we can help your loved one, please call 319.272.2002 or 800.626.2360.Â
Hospice Myth vs. Fact
Cedar Valley Hospice encourages you to educate yourself and others on the importance of hospice and palliative care. We want everyone to know that Cedar Valley Hospice can help by:
- Visiting the patient in their home or at a facility to help with pain and symptom management. Nursing assistance is available 24/7.Â
- Providing education about the illness and care instructions to the family and caregivers.Â
- Offering mental, spiritual and grief support for the patient and family to reduce stress and allow you to focus on Making Each Moment Matter.Â
