Your family deserves our expert staff

Having a serious illness can be very stressful. From managing doctor’s appointments, medications and bills to trying to muster the strength to make it through the day – it is all very overwhelming. Add to it, the weight of asking others to help, and it can really start to weigh on one’s state of mind.

At Cedar Valley Hospice, our experts understand those pressures a serious illness can put on a family. That is why our support system and team-centered approach can help – offering services based on a person’s individual care needs and wishes.

A standard of excellence

Cedar Valley Hospice has been serving families for 43 years. Our staff have been trained in the Cedar Valley Hospice “standards of excellence,” ensuring each patient, family and client receives expert care and compassionate service.

2022 Cedar Valley Top Nurse Laura Skillen says helping people is what drove her aspirations to become a nurse, ever since she was 7 years old. “Often people don’t know anything about hospice, but they come to us because they don’t know what to do,” she said. “They trust us to help them during this difficult time, and that is exactly what we do… provide the care and emotional support they need.”

She adds that she enjoys educating families on how best to help care for their loved ones. At Cedar Valley Hospice, we consider this a priority for our clinicians. From “how to treat symptoms” to “what to expect” – knowledge empowers caregivers to be confident, and thus reduces anxiety and stress for both the patient and the caregiver.

Care in the comfort of your home

If you or a loved one is dealing with a serious illness, it’s time you receive the medical care, pain management and emotional and spiritual support you deserve – provided wherever you call home. This allows you to focus on Making Each Moment Matter with those you love.

“When Cedar Valley Hospice visited my mother in her home, she would smile all the time,” said Tracie Spencer, daughter. “Their extra support allowed our family to exhale and just spend precious time with her. They truly are like guardian angels.”
