Events at Cedar Valley Hospice

“Nights” Event

Cedar Valley Hospice hosts the annual themed “Nights” event each spring. Guests enjoy a casual Friday evening of appetizers, silent auction, raffle, dinner, program and entertainment. Special emphasis is placed on educating the community about the programs and services of the agency and the opportunity to show financial support. This event requires registration prior to the event and ticket payment.

Release & Remember

Cedar Valley Hospice is proud of our popular butterfly release when 1000 live Monarch butterflies are released near the Cedar River at the Waterloo RiverLoop Amphitheatre. Hundreds of community guests join us to enjoy a picnic lunch, family activities, live entertainment and the opportunity to support and dedicate the release of a butterfly in memory or in honor of someone they love with a donation. This event is free and open to the public.

Tree of Love

This annual fundraiser is a tradition for Cedar Valley Hospice. Community donors may recognize a loved one during this beautiful time of year with a contribution and in return, receive a special ornament or bookmark as a keepsake. Ceremonies are held in early December in Waterloo providing an opportunity to honor and remember loved ones during the holiday season. These ceremonies are free and open to the public.

Forget-Me-Not Fundraiser

Forget-Me-Not Fundraisers support the programs and services of our Cedar Valley Hospice offices in Grundy Center, Independence and Waverly.  These events take place in each community in June to raise funds and awareness for the important work of serving patients and families in northeast Iowa. Guests enjoy entertainment, lunch, silent auction and bag raffle items and a short program.  A special Forget-Me-Not momento to remember or honor a loved one is also included with a reservation and can be purchased separately as well. Each event utilizes local venues, vendors, volunteers and testimonials and all proceeds from these events remain with the local Cedar Valley Hospices in each community.
